We monitor our divers who carry special licenses to fish for sponges. The divers handpick the sponges individually leaving the roots intact enabling the sponge to re-grow easily as sponges have the ability to regenerate from the smallest fragment. In fact regular harvesting of sponges enhances their health and population. Each sponge is inspected by the ministry of agriculture and fisheries and certified for export. Our sponges undergo 42 stages of traditional hand processing in our London warehouse and we carefully monitor each stage ensuring complete quality control.
